The brief for this project was to show how the
morphology and landscape of this corner of England
impacted on the location and development of the
town of Bath. It is a tactile interpretation with access
for all, positioned at the start of visitor
experience at the Museum and mounted on a
moveable plinth. It is labelled in large print
and Braille.

The horizontal scale of approximately 1:50000 is determined by a requirement for the
finished installation to be no larger than 700 mm x 700 mm, enabling it to be easily moved
through a standard doorway. The vertical scale of 3:1 is determined by the size of the piece,
the horizontal scale and the need to give definition to areas of low elevation.

The landscape was modeled in clay and cast in
resin with a bronze finish. The plinth is made from
solid beech with a lockable drawer and wheels.
